Switch to NEXA: The Realistic Transition Guide for Loan Officers

Moving to NEXA — or any mortgage platform — is a high-stakes decision involving your license, active pipeline, borrower relationships, CRM data, and technology setup. This guide walks through the real transition process and the questions to verify before you resign from your current company.

Facts last verified: September 5, 2026. Transition steps and timelines vary by your state, current company, and licensing. Legal/compliance-sensitive items are qualified — verify with NEXA and, where appropriate, counsel.

How the Transition to NEXA Generally Works

1

NMLS Transfer & Licensing

Your MLO license is portable via NMLS. To move to NEXA, your NMLS registration is updated to reflect NEXA as your new employer/sponsor in each state where you're licensed. Coordinate this with NEXA's licensing team and be aware of state-specific processing times, resignation, and sponsorship deadlines. Matt Dean is NMLS #227603; NEXA Mortgage, LLC is Company NMLS #1660690.

2

What Happens to Your Active Pipeline

Your active and in-process loans belong to your current company, not to you personally. Do not attempt to improperly transfer active files. Plan how to communicate with borrowers and referral partners about a transition in a compliant way — and understand that some in-flight loans may need to be completed or transitioned per your current employer's policies. Borrower communication during a transition must comply with regulations and truth-in-lending obligations.

3

Company & CRM / Data Migration

Your CRM data and contact records — not including confidential company or active-file data — are the pipeline you carry into a new business. Exporting your own contacts is generally expected, but exposing proprietary company data is not. Migrate your LOS/POS setup and set up your new CRM, pricing engine, email, and domain under the new arrangement.

4

Technology, Onboarding & First Loan

NEXA onboarding covers technology setup (CRM, LOS, pricing engine, borrower portals) and processing workflow. You'll complete required compliance training and lender approvals. After licensing transfer and lender setup, you can start originating. Your first loan is the same workflow you'll use going forward — supported by NEXA's processing team.

5

Realistic Transition Timeline

A full transition — from initial evaluation to first funded loan at the new platform — typically takes several weeks to a couple of months depending on your states, lender approvals, and the onboarding queue. Confirm NEXA's current onboarding timeline for your situation rather than assuming a fixed number of days.

Questions to Verify Before You Resign
